
The Stigler Center Journalists in Residence Program 2027 at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business offers journalists from around the world an opportunity to spend approximately 12 weeks in Chicago, deepen their understanding of political economy and business reporting, and learn alongside leading academics and fellow journalists.

The stipend may be subject to tax withholding for international participants, and health insurance costs are paid from the stipend unless equivalent coverage is provided.
The program is open to journalists working in all forms of media, including freelance journalists and editors. Applicants should have some professional experience, be proficient in English and demonstrate an interest in political economy.
Applicants must submit a CV, personal statement, two recommendation letters, three published articles and proof of English proficiency where applicable.
Applications for the Spring 2027 cohort must be submitted online before:
